Compare Any Two Options

A structured way to weigh tradeoffs between two choices — a house, a job offer, a laptop, a vendor quote, anything with more than one thing to consider. You define what matters, rate or enter real values for each option, and the tool computes a transparent, explainable score. It doesn't know your local rent prices or a company's actual stability — you provide those, and it never fabricates a number you didn't give it.

Build your comparison

How this works

You name your two options and pick 2-7 criteria that matter — cost, quality, convenience, whatever's relevant. Continuous numbers (price, time, counts) are scored against a fixed realistic range, not just against your other option, so a trivial difference and a huge one are never treated the same. Ratings (1-5) keep their own meaning regardless of what the other option scores. Weights you set are automatically rescaled to add up to 100%.

What this tool does not do

It does not look up real prices, crime statistics, school rankings, salaries, or company data — every number comes from you. For high-stakes topics (medical, legal, or major financial decisions), it shows a clear limitation notice rather than a confident recommendation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the AI just decide which option wins?

No. AI can help propose comparison criteria, but the final score always comes from deterministic math over the values you provide — never from an AI opinion.

Where do the numbers come from?

From you. This tool doesn't fetch live prices, crime rates, salaries, or company data. If a criterion needs a number, you provide your own best estimate.

Why does it say 'too close to call' sometimes?

Because the calculated difference is small relative to the uncertainty involved — manufacturing a confident recommendation in that situation would be misleading.

Is this safe to use for medical or legal decisions?

This tool flags high-stakes topics and shows a clear disclaimer, but it is not medical, legal, or financial advice for any decision, and should be treated as a structured comparison aid at most.

This tool provides a structured comparison for informational purposes and does not constitute medical, legal, or financial advice.
