What Miser Tools is

Miser Tools is decision-support software. It helps you structure a comparison between options using deterministic, transparent calculations based on the information you provide. It is a tool to help organize your own thinking about a decision — it is not a substitute for your own judgment.

Not professional advice

Miser Tools does not provide financial, legal, tax, employment, investment, medical, or any other kind of professional advice. Nothing produced by this site is a recommendation to take any specific real-world action. You should consult a qualified professional before making significant financial, legal, or other important decisions.

Your responsibility for your decisions

You are solely responsible for any decisions you make, whether or not informed by a result from this site. Miser Tools does not make decisions for you, and using this site does not transfer any responsibility for your choices to us.

Estimates, assumptions, and model limitations

Every result depends entirely on the accuracy of the information you enter and on the assumptions built into each tool's methodology (documented on each tool's methodology page). Estimates you provide are treated as estimates, not facts, and are reflected in the confidence and sensitivity information shown with your result. A tool's calculations can only be as accurate as its inputs.

No guarantee of outcomes

We do not guarantee that any result, recommendation, or projection produced by Miser Tools will be accurate, complete, or will lead to any particular real-world outcome. Real-world results depend on many factors outside any calculation's control.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the site — including attempting to disrupt its normal operation, attempting to access data that isn't yours, or using the site for any unlawful purpose.

Intellectual property

The Miser Tools name, site design, and underlying software are the property of Miser Tools and its licensors. The information you enter into a tool remains yours; we do not claim ownership of it.

Third-party services

This site uses third-party services to operate, including hosting infrastructure, analytics (Google Analytics), and — when those features are live — authentication (Clerk) and payment processing (Stripe). Your use of those features is also subject to those providers' own terms.

Accounts and subscriptions

Where account creation is available, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. Where a paid subscription is available, billing is handled by Stripe, and cancellation terminates your paid access at the end of the then-current billing period unless otherwise stated at the time of cancellation.

Disclaimers

The site is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Miser Tools will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site — including any decision made using information from this site.

Changes to the service or these terms

We may modify or discontinue any part of the service, and we may update these terms, at any time. If we make material changes to these terms, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
